Hello! I’m trying to figure out what breeds/genders I have here below, I believe both of these chicks are old English.

Chick #1 - I think it’s a silver duckwing old English bantam.. I heard they can be sexed by color but I’ve never owned old English birds so I am not sure.

Chick #2 - Maybe a black old English? Not sure. How do I sex this one? Im assuming looking for when the red combs comes in and crowing but not sure if I can sex this one by color…
Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

#1 golden Duckwing OEGB

#2 brown red OEGB

You'll have to wait tell about 2 months of age to know male or female.

I don't think either of these are Old English. The second one definitely is not. Where did you get them?

The reason I'm positive the second is not an OEGB is that it doesn't have a single comb. You can see in the last picture that its comb is flattish and bumpy with no distinct rows. I don't think the first baby has a single comb, either, but I could be wrong; none of the pictures of its comb are as clear as with the second chick.

Either way, you'll need to wait until they're older to know if they're male or female.

I got them from my neighbors chickens. She has manyyyyy different kinds. She have a silver duckwing hen and a couple other old English as well. The egg was SUPER tiny. What other breeds could it be? The eggs were extremely small. There’s no feathers on their feet either so that lay narrow the search down as well.

Time will tell, I suppose you'll have to wait for combs to say on gender.
The reason why I thought you can tell gender of the silver duckwing is because I saw another post on here and she posted pictures of her chicks - that looks just like my chick - & she said is was a female because of the dark eyeliner and the coloring of the chick. And then it turned out it both of hers female! Maybe just coinicidence but just wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

Also see my attachment, doesn’t chick # 1 look extremely similar?
