old English colors

unfortunately without a pair with the same color none of the offspring will be show quality or a recognized color veriety, but they will all be very pretty be cause oegbs are always cool looking :)

Ahh okay:/ if i cant find a bb red rooster could I possibly selectively breed the offspring back to the bb red hen and try to remove the leakage ?

unfortunately not with the birds you have as the birchen color will show up on the roos as they get older. you will need a BB red roo to make BB red OEGBs. there are also dutch bantams which come in the same color asid from the white earlobes and slate legs but it may be possible get a BB red bird from breeding those 2 however will not be a pure oegb. your best bet at BBred is finding a roo that is BBred or getting some new chicks hoping that one is a roo. hatcheries may have some unsexed BBred chicks left if you want to look into breeding BBreds

Ahh okay darn :/ where i live they aren’t easy to find , im not even sure which hatchery to look for in canada that would have them :/ looks like i may have to remove these from my flock

All look to be crossbreds, the dark legs on the BB colored one are a dead giveaway. Old English Games are the most popular breed in the U.S. and I would suspect they are fairly common north of the border as well. Not sure where you are in Canada but Heather Hayes is the Canadian Rep for the APA and you could contact her as to some Canadian breeders. There are also some well known judges in Canada who could help you out. Try the APA or ABA websites and see what each has to offer.

Blessings,

Bo

Ahh okay thank you for the info 🙏🏻 I definitely have to look into that cause i breed alot more birds and would love to know the standards , i live in Newfoundland so im not sure if they made it this far or not , i drove like 2 hours today an bought another roo for 25 bucks 😅 but hes the closest thing i saw to bb red here on the island hopefully it can create better colors than the rooster i have in the pen currently, when i add the bb red color hen with the new rooster will i have to worry about hatching odd color offspring were she was in with the birchen one ? Or would i have to wait a month to hatch ?
