ok to i know to store eggs keep them at 50 degree for when you r hen goes broody but how long can you keep the eggs store the eggs so you can put them under the hen

Tripp16: My girl started laying after about a month. She went broody again so so much for her eggs!!!! I only got to enjoy them for a few weeks. They are such a pretty shinny cream color.

Anywho, I am not sure what is up with your lady. Maybe try giving her some wet dog/cat food?? Maybe she needs that protein boost.

So I may have some early hatches. I went and tapped on some eggs today and 2 had that glass sounding shells as if the yolk was almost absorbed and the others had that plastic sound as if they are still full of liquid. What do yall think? Is this accurate?

Like fertile eggs? Are you waiting for her to go broody? They are pretty neat in the fact that they keep for a while and then once they get under the mama they start growing!!! I am not sure however how long they can stay fertile and still have a good hatch rate.

Technically up to 14 days if you can keep them cool. But the days after seven though and the hatch rate starts to go down. It would be a good idea to mark the date you collected them in pencil on the egg so you know the oldest and the youngest.

I collected over the course of 14 days and was not able to keep my eggs cool just room temperature. I dont have a broody yet my hen is too young and my Guineas are ..... well Guineas.... My other hens arent laying yet. So I collected two to three eggs from my hen every three days. Those eggs sat in the coop that time. I cant get to my house more than once every two to three days.... LONG story.

I put sixteen eggs twelve Auracana and four Guinea in the incubator some had sat in the coop through 90 degree heat. I had three Guinea eggs hatch. I wasnt expecting anything because of the way I handled them. and the fact that the Auracana is in with very very young roosters. All were pullet eggs too.
