So cute!

Mommas and the baby. I just about lost my hand due to Vanilla Ice pecking me over touching the baby. lol

So cute!, I knew Vanilla Ice would be a good mother when she co-hatched with Topsy. Speaking of Topsy, how is she doing? Has she give her new family any chicks yet?!

How old is the rooster? Is he new to covering the hens? I had one like that pretty young and took a couple months before his eggs were actually fertile
Actually have a couple more roos like that too
Hens laying away for the last 2 months not one was fertile
Im no expert but maybe some take a while to get fertile once they start.
Just a guess.
Have you watched? Some of my hens are cranky and just dont stand for being jumped on Will chase a roo off unless hes really bold. they have to mature and get more brazen.
Okay, Thanks, Roxanne--that's what I was wondering. The two black orps (a year May 1) are very accommodating but the younger (Aug 1) hens aren't so much. And he's young (Aug 1) so I think progress is good but we're not quite there yet.

Ok so my broody BA has plucked about 39 feathers from her body. My others never plucked that many. Is it b/c she is sittings more eggs than they were? My other two sat on 8 and hatched 8. She is sitting on 11 eggs. She is a whole lot bigger than my cochin bantam and my production red.
