If she is settled and you are happy where she is, just do it whenever. If you put the eggs one by one in front of her she will probably role them under herself

Mine go out back into the flock with mama at 1 week old. Mine free range though so don't know if that makes the situation better...

I bought some eggs yesterday!! is it okay that I have to lift her off AND put her back on the nest every day? It's like she forgets she's broody till she sees the eggs!

Did you leave the eggs to sit for 24hr before putting them under her? Is she in a fenced in nest box or is she in a run? If she is a run she might get on and off without you even knowing...

5 babies so far. I finally had to separate this broody because all of the other chickens were laying eggs in her nest . She wound up with 24 eggs under her. There are 3 duck eggs that I had given her when she first became broody.

So cute!! Don't forget that a duck egg takes 1 week later than a chick to hatch.
