Mine go out back into the flock with mama at 1 week old. Mine free range though so don't know if that makes the situation better...What's the best time to integrate the babies into the flock?
Did you leave the eggs to sit for 24hr before putting them under her? Is she in a fenced in nest box or is she in a run? If she is a run she might get on and off without you even knowing...I bought some eggs yesterday!! is it okay that I have to lift her off AND put her back on the nest every day? It's like she forgets she's broody till she sees the eggs!
So cute!! Don't forget that a duck egg takes 1 week later than a chick to hatch.
