Johnn, what kind of chick is that? I have one that looks just like it. I know mine is a marans, but not sure if blue or black.

DAY 23: okay so this is now day 23ish... Still no chicks.

I noticed she's plucked her chest feathers so she can keep her eggs warm. Yesterday she had all of them there.

What can I do since its now around the 23rd day?

When should assisting take place and can anyone suggest a thread that covers this topic or educational youtube videos?

'Hatching 101'.... article by Sally Sunshine, and I dont remember if it is the same article or not but she also has one called 'Guide to assisted hatching'

If you look up her profile I believe she has the links in her signature

Thank you everyone for your help. After reading last night I decided to pray and ask god to help those little chicks hatch.
I woke up this morning to a "cheep cheep" coming from her coop and 1 of 2 eggs hatched! The other one is cracked which Im assuming she/he needs more time. The other chick is healthy, walking around fine and keeping warm under her moms wing.

I forgot how small bantom chicks are its been a while since Ive seen my hen as a chick. Still praying all goes well for the 2nd one and that they both can survive to live a healthy life. AND to be females! Because i cant have any more roosters

When I adopted my hen she was abondoned by her mother along with 4 other chicksn. Out of that batch she was the only hen the rest were roosters.

@fisherlady @Sydney Acres thanks guys!
I just posted a new thread of the update and now consequences of finding a new home for 3 of the hens who we believe we were responsible for the death of the chicks in the coop and rejecting the eggs that I tried to hatch. Maybe I could get some advice for our new situation now. Poor sweet pea is depressed and it's killing me :*(
