Thanks it was stressful. I thought I only saw the one but I will check for sure tomorrow. I took the box off the blocks so the baby can get in and out when it is time. I guess I need to grind up some chick starter so it can eat?

I can't tell if it is a shadow, or 2 chicks. Congrats! The little one in your hand reminds me of my Sumatra's when they are born.

I always buy Gamebird/chick crumbles. Mama will take out some food, drop it for the babies, and make a cute high peeping noise to let them know to eat it. No need to grind. They can do it from day one!

Okay thanks. I put the water bowl up on top of the blocks that I removed from the nest box and put a margarine lid with water in it on the ground for the baby. I don't want it to drown. I think in the morning I will replace the bowl with one of those screw on waterers with the red bottom? Would that be safe for it? It is so so tiny.

I second the second chick sighting. Congratulations! If it is an only chick, mine is spoiled rotten by her mother so it can be a good thing. Mom will teach her how to eat and drink. Don't worry
