WOW! They're just beautiful. Sorry to hear you lost Nova. Nova looked very well cared for, and I'm sure loved each and every day. How lucky they all are to have known such a caring owner.

I've had 2 chicks hatch out in the hatcher today. Would it be safe to sneak them in with my broody and the 6 meaties I gave her yesterday? I won't be doing anything until tonight, of course.

Thank you! We are doing OK, and the boys are getting on well together...Just takes time, you know

What does TSC stand for?

TSC = Tractor Supply Company

You are so lucky in the US...you can just wander into your local feed merchants and come home with chickies!

I think the longer you wait to add new babies, the harder it will be. It's really all about trial and error with these hens. Good luck and do tell how it goes!

I think: If mom takes the babies out then you can give up and get rid of the leftover eggs.
Otherwise I personally wouldn't let her go over 3 days...the live babies become your priority

Hope that helps

My DH checked them today and he said she wasnt budging but the chicks were out running around in and out of her feathers. It was 24 hrs this morning Ill let her go another day or two...she seems to think there is still something in there !
