Very happy little chick sounds coming from under my broody. I believe she has it under her wing. It screached at one point and momma very quickly readjusted. I STILL haven't been able to see a thing except that it isn't the frizzle that has hatched. (I got a glimpse of that egg as she was adjusting.) Means it's an olive egger. Momma seems very tender and happy. I can't wait to see the little fluffy butts!!!!

I'm off to try to get some pictures. She let me catch an ever so brief glance. Cute little chipmunk looking olive egger, I think. Barely dry.

Here are the first two (out of 5 possible) ....

While I was busy taking pictures of the black and yellow chick (and broody momma constantly tried to get it back underneath her!), this little guy popped out the back ....

Momma is as neat as could be! Every piece of shell and every chick scooped back under her. The frizzle has hatched but I don't believe either of these chicks is the frizzle so hopefully, more chicks to follow. (I'm not greedy or anything.)

I have a frizzle egg under this broody. It was thrown in as a bonus with the olive eggs. Just now discovered that it is hatching but isn't yet out of the shell.

(It's a white leghorn banty frizzle so I'm assuming it will be a yellow chick.) One piece of shell that I did manage to clear out from under my broody was olive egger. I HAVE to resist the temptation of messing with the process. In the house - find something to do ....
