Miss Lydia - Day 19 and I hear peeping in the incubator!!!!!!! (First time I've heard the peeping BEFORE they've been out of the egg

)

(I think it's the white shelled Silkie. I shone the flashlight in checking for pips and got PEEPS!! Hopefully this one will be a girl and a future broody!!!!!!

Miss Lydia keeps insisting that you can often hear them prior to hatch. I've been the one on this thread always encouraging those that don't hear anything. I even put a stethoscope on the eggs under my broody. Didn't hear a thing.

Several hours later there were chicks looking at me!!!! I'm delighted to have finally heard it.

The hatching has begun - a Black Copper Maran is out and a Black Ameraucana has pipped. I jsut wish I had a broody for them!
