Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

I will have to check out the Kodack I can only afford about two hundred..... Great pix..... Oooh I have a one legged Guinea. Shes doing fabulously after a racoon removed the whole leg up to the hip. it took her about two weeks to heal and go back out with her buds and about two months to be strong enough to spend most of her time on one foot. Now she hops along with the flock just as fast as the rest. Miss Peggy is a special girl.... LOL.

awww, so she gets along ok...that is awesome! this little girl is named Emily, a modern game hen given to me from a fellow BYCer that rescued her, she lost her leg in a blizzard last year- she is an awesome broody, and when the weather is nice is outside she has a playpen, but i don't leave her out if it goes below 40, and she has her chick zigzag she hatched- they are bonded...

As soon as it was light enough I let everyone else out and crawled back to see her nest-- and a little chickie peeped out! I only got half the shell out cause its cold and windy. So 3 more to go. I'll check for pips and take some pictures as soon as the sun comes up more!!!

Maybe, but with my digital camera I can take literally 10,000 pictures or more and don't have to pay a cent for processing OR film - so I've learned to work around the speed thing!!

Aahh but they have come up with the speed on the DSLRS The slow speed i was refering to is with the little point and shoot cameras. I am seeing shutter speeds with DSLRS that are coming up to the same speed as a full SLR. Four to five shots under a second. I also want to be able to take a blurry picture on occasion. or capture motion in the wings or horses legs..... I am just waiting for the prices to come down.... Sigh.

Do check out the Canon EOS Rebels. VERY reasonable prices and they can capture this ....

I hear they are having 100 mph + winds in parts of Scotland and the roof has blown off the stands at Epsom racecourse (in the south of the UK)

Chooks seem happy enough sheltering under the hedge or in their coop.
