we have a buried cattle waterer for a duck pond. Mine do the same thing daily, dodging the icebergs with temps as low as the 20's. Is that Odie? Really cute pic!

Nope Opie didn't get in the pics, the ones in the pool were our newest girls they are about 6 months old, and the big drake is Ernie he is going on 9. I had the trough emptied out for the winter but it warmed up so much I filled it for them and they have been having a blast except for the hawk that keeps them nervous. Do you think a small chicken hawk ccould pick up a 6lb duck? thats how much much girls weigh. Boys about 10 to 15 lbs.

Hawks....ugggg.
What I find funniest about my ducks is when they are out, having a blast, being ducks, and a wild duck flys overhead and quacks. They all stop what they are doing, and tilt their heads, and give the sky the "one eye"

I know it's so funny, we have the canandian geese that fly over morn and eve, and they all stop what they are doing to look up with tilted head, my goose even watches the occasional jet that flies over. lol
