I keep saying I'm going to leave her alone and not look anymore, but I just can't. Tonight she got really cranky with me and actually pecked at me and the flashlight so I think she has had enough and is trying to warn me to "look and not touch". She'll get a break tomorrow cause I have to work a 12 hour shift and will be worring all day. Have tried to Kitty proof the cage she is in so hope it all works if it hatches tomorrow!!
 
I can't take it, I can't take it! I need to know if they will hatch! LOL I would love to see a little head poking out! AHHH OK, I'm going to go look at her, but no touching!
 
i peeked this morning and one little yellow still damp baby!!! mama isn't too pleased to let me look, i will get pics in a bit... still waiting on the blue eggs.....

So I go away for a few months and this thread jumps from 236 pages to 620 pages!!!! Gonna take me forever to catch up!
We had a hatch on October 1... it was snowing. We got 3 beautiful chicks. One disappeared a few weeks later down a mysterious hole(rat). I filled the hole and moved Mama and the remaining 2 chicks into our main coop. When the chicks were about 5-6weeks old we had a massacre(possum?) and Mama hen got killed. We hoped the chicks were feathered enough to survive... and another hen adopted them!!! She looked hilarious with those big chicks under each wing and mothered them for a full cycle like they had just hatched. A few weeks ago, I gave one to my mom and that big baby crawled in the nest with a new bantie hatch and is helping keep the new chicks warm. 3.5 months old and still roosting under their adopted Mama's wings. Go figure. I haven't managed to get a picture b/c its always at night. Here's a picture of Tum-tum with the original hatch. She was my favorite, I'm so sad she's gone.
