Does anyone vaccinate their babies?

I am contemplating vaccinating for CRD and Mareks. If this is in their water will it hurt the mama?

Just food for thought... Mareks vaccine doesn't keep them from getting Mareks Or from passing it on. It only keeps them from getting the symptoms. I don't know what the acronym CRD stands for. I don't vaccinate, or buy vaccinated chicks. then again I don't show or travel with my birds and I don't have people who have poultry come to my property either.

I wonder if someone is trying to go broody. They moved the pingpong balls into the same nestbox. At first I was excited thinking AC laid an egg. Then I noticed the company logo on the side.

Its pretty! Congrats! Did you pull the chick out from under momma? Mine was so tight down on them I couldnt lift her up to see until after a few hours.

Tomorrow should be the day!!! Except I'm down to two eggs--one...was eaten? and one of the remaining eggs disappeared at that time but came back the next day (must have just been lost in the bedding. Anyway, I only expect one to hatch. I'm hoping I can buy day olds next week to add, so Laura isn't 'out of commision' so long to only gain one chicken. Sound like a plan?

Yes, I've already gone and purchased two more day-olders to put underneath her tonight. I hate for her to just have 2-3 chicks after 3 weeks of sitting on her fluffy butt!

She's not aggressive at all when I go in to lift her off to check the progress. Very sweet little hen.
