The nesting boxes are next to each other but separate except for the one little Serama and Silkie they're sharing a box (whatz funny is that the Serama is so small that shez almost underneath the Silkie with the eggs). I think I can put up a divider, but the 4 broodies will be together.

If you can separate them by a divider that will at least give them privacy when hatch day comes.

Thank you for posting a pic of a tetra tint. I don't think i have ever seen one. what breeds do they use to make them? sure looks like she is serious. .Congrats and please keep us updated..

I have heard they are produced from a California Grey rooster and a White Leghorn hen. I have also been told they do not go broody. lol. She has been doing a good job so far. There is a thread on here dedicated to them as well.

Well I was very concerned about my broody Issabelle this afternoon, she came out of the nest box acting crazier than what normal for her. Only 2 days away form hatch too, she would not go back into the nest, I really thought it was over, she was out for at least an hour then when i had just given up and went in side, about 15 min later went out to check and there she sat like " whats the matter with you"? So tomorrow she will have to stay put I won't go through that again..

She's just saving the drama for her mama. Lol! Hope she stays put and you get a great clutch soon.

We have two broody hens at the moment. They should hatch sometime around May 12th and May 16th.

Mother Hen- 12 developing eggs due May 12th. This is her second time......

And Cuckoo - 5 eggs under her. First time broody- second set of eggs. The other ladies wrestled her too much in the coop so we had to move her. First clutch 3 eggs broke and the remaining 5 were abandoned. Started over in the extra large brooder and she has 5. Too soon to check development....
Congrats on the broodies! I wish I had another broody right now. I've got a bunch of shipped eggs and a tiny silkie broody. Ugh!

I NEED ADVISE SOON------ I have (4) broody hens laying on (7) eggs. My Cochin has (4), my silkie has (1) and I have (2) hens, a Serama and a Silkie laying on (2) eggs (same nesting box) I candled all the eggs today and it looks like we're only days away from hatching. Here's my issue, the broody hens are in the regular coop on floor level nesting boxes. What am I going to do when the eggs start hatching. It sounds like the mothers all need to be seperate so they don't fight each other or hurt the babies. They're also in my coop with the rest of the birds. I can take the babies away when they're born and put them in my brooder, but what will happen to the hens?? WHAT SHOULD I DO?? THESE ARE MY FIRST EGGS WITH MY OWN FLOCK.
Why don't you wait and see how the broody hens get along with the babies and each other. They may surprise you and all get along fine. Or they may go crazy on one another and have to be separated. I'd go with keeping them together and watch how they do.
