, is the duck a good mother?? I heard ducks are quite useless bringing ducklings up.

that has not been my experience. Miss Penelope is the best mom a duckling could ask for.

Bunny is sticking tight to her nest tonight. Vanilla Ice tried to take over this afternoon. Either she moved in while Bunny was out eating/drinking or forced her way in and pushed out Bunny. But VI isn't broody she's just bossy maybe she's going to try to co brood these like she did with Topsy. I don't think Bunny will be as agreeable about that as Topsy was. Time will tell. We are on Day 3.

74 Sumatra's (subject to change, more roosters to send to freezer camp) 17 large foul hens including RIR's, White leghorns, EE's and assorted mutts, and 11 ducks, 9 of which are female.

yes after a few days you can do a monitored integration. Watch closely as they have been seperate. Reseperate if needed

Yes she's much larger. She's also walking around making the broody cluck. Haha. But she's not broody (yet).

I just unsubed and subed again so maybe this time it will work.

neither of my broodys are a year old yet not till summer so I hope they both are as dedicated to their chicks as they are to their eggs,.

One of my hens did that for like a month or two but never went broody
