LOL I'll be watching to see what you get.
Thanks :)

it's hard I know lol, a few times I wish I had waited to allow all to hatch, throwing out eggs that I found out to late would have hatched if I had waited a few extra days. I'm concerned as my girl was off her nest and on a new nest when I got home from work, sad part is the eggs were cold . I pray by her getting back on them they are ok. There suposed to hatch next weekend.

Patience isn't one of my virtues.

I'm sorry about your eggs. I have read about eggs hatching after going cold so there is still hope.

Hatch Day was Friday and all the chicks hatched out on Wednesday and Thursday!

I started with 16 eggs
- Broody ate 2
= 14
- 2 rolled out a few days before hatch and died
- 1 green egg that never developed
- 1 green egg that I cannot see into but maybe a late bloomer so I stuck it under a different broody to give it a few more days
- 1 chick hatched but died by the morning unknown reason. Although, it looked to maybe have an umbilical infection because the fecal matter in the egg was stuck to the umbilical

= 8 cute little fluffy chicks!

I have a broody I just put 9 eggs under, there is three left, anyone know how long there viable ? So far 2 broody, 2 more acting hormonal wow, lots of things going on here lol.

I had 4 broodies and some eggs in the incubator . So I divied them out amongst them and now they are hatching!!!!! so cool! two are nestled together and have 6 chicks between them already.

They are honestly being really good about me fishing around under there an pulling things out and putting them back in so I already know...4 Maradunna basque chicks, a male rhodebar and a barnevelder. still have 2 CCL eggs, another Maraduna basque, what I think might be a silkie egg and another Rhodebar to go.

Bunny finally is done. It's Day 25 for her. She left the nest and was wandering in the yard with the flock. I checked her nest. She had smashed one egg open, it was not developed past day 5. The other egg stunk so I removed it, I tossed it to the ground away from me and it broke open. it was probably a day 8 quitter.

So she is done with sitting on those eggs. Hopefully she'll give up being broody and get back to laying within the next several weeks. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I love seeing the chicks with the mommas. On the other hand I don't need anymore chickens right now. I'm sure she will get another chance to be a broody momma in the future, I'm just hoping its in the distant future since I miss her dark brown eggs. :)

I'm scared to crack eggs open on the floor now, last year when I did it there was 3 fully grown chicks and it was horrible.
