Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

Sounds like an awesome addition to anyone's farm! I'm not sure who was more blessed, her for finding a wonderful forever home, or you, for finding such a beautiful animal to share your life!
I like to think we are equally blessed - she pours her heart into everything she does - and in return she gets all of the hugs, kisses, and treats she can stand!

Mindy watching over some of her brooder babies.....

Mindy watching her broody babies... thankfully mama Gracie was OK with her hanging around. She let Mindy lay in her pen without a fuss, but wouldn't let any other hens anywhere near them!

Thank you, Not a rescue, she is an English Shepherd, from a sheep farm in NY... I'll send you a PM so we don't hijack the broody pages. Though looks like we each are lucky enough to have broody dogs! LOL
Wonder what is in them that says "Hmm - let's just hang out with the chickens?" I don't know about "old fashioned" or "hen" - but they are definately broody. - LOL

I have three chicks so far!

One has hatched with its brain outside of its head. I don't think it will make it through the rest of the day.
