Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

thats so cool i really wanted to get a good broody breed for hatching this year but everything got in the way so mabye next year

Be careful what you wish for!! I wanted 'a few broodies' so we could repopulate naturally and somehow ended up with a broody factory here!
We are on broody #11 for the year (12 if you count the one who gave up after 5 weeks, my fault I made her wait too long to get her eggs)
and there are 2 more I think may fall broody yet.... but I am hoping I am wrong!

Only a week left before the broody's eggs should start hatching!!

So far she's still doing really well, and is getting meaner by the hour!! I'm going to get her chick-raising pen ready this week, and will move her after all her chicks have hatched.

It's on here. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/609915/bra-incubator I read it when I was bored with nothing else to do. I think that nothing hatched, but she thought it was because her bra size wasn't big enough, if you know what I mean. I read somewhere that someone in the UK was successful.

And she named the egg Booby. I think it died at hatch, but made it almost all of the way.
