Cuteness Alert!
Janeway had another hatch, cold weather made it strange, she hatched from Sunday night through Tuesday, nearly a 42 hour from first to last, which is odd for broodies when all the eggs were set at the same time... but she did 7/7, she had an early quitter and a non-starter that were pulled on the 10 day mark... one to hatch was unexpected, since the air cell was on the side of the egg, but it made it on it's own and we can't even tell which of the last 3 it is (the last 3 hatched while we were at work)....
Some additional info... Janeway spent her entire brood in the coop, she is an experienced broody and stays in general population and is one of the good ones who has no problem with invading hens or mixing up her nest boxes, our life so easy with her broods. Our nest boxes are moveable and we did bring her in after her first chick hatched and placed her in a dog kennel in a cool room (hubby didn't like her being out in a subfreezing coop at hatch, and easier to enjoy the chicks where she was moved to
) . After her hatch completed we swapped out the original box for a much less cumbersome box which is seen in the picture. They will move back out to the coop in a day or so.
so without further rambling...
