Thank you! I also have my broody in with the rest of the flock. I have been debating on how to go about the feed situation. I have my main feeder hanging at about chest hight for the hens and roo (all are LF) so the chicks cant get to it for awhile. I just put out a feeder for the chicks next to mom. There were in a nest box, but about 4 days ago my either my broody or my roo (who likes to cuddle with broody all night) broke off the front board on the box. The broody proceeded to roll all the eggs out and onto the floor, about an 8 inch drop. And now she is in a corner of the coop. And am still trying to figure out how to go about the water.

Here's my Silver Laced Wyandotte, Chickie Mama, teaching her Icelandic and Java chicks about foraging. The chicks are two weeks old today and tomorrow. It was 48 degrees this morning, but Mama had them out learning how the "early bird gets the worm" before I let everyone else out!!

I love the markings on your Brahma....but then I like any chicken with a black, white, monochrome coloration!! It's why I have my SLW!
It's hard to catch the little ones when they're not moving!! I read someone here on BYC call them bumblebees, a very good description of them, zipping about and never still for very long!!

I know what you mean about trying to take a pic. By the time I got the shot they'd be back under mama, need to glue them to one place for a min. lol.
we're excited with you mrsmaonaigh, few more days till you'll be hearing lil peeps...
