OH wow- lovely pics and thank you for sharing this part of the cycle (all that was missing from my broody hatch was the hatch part so now i can enjoy it vicariously)
I had to open the remaining ones my hen had moved out from under her, they we partially formed but something had happened. I needed to know. She might just get up and leave them because the chicks will have to eat unless you've done what I did and moved food and water right next to them. If thats the case she'll probably keep on sitting. You never know with these hens they surely have a mind of their own.
Oh what great pics in last two posts, I can't wait till mine arrive. It is day 21 and no signs yet oh I am so impatient and hard to keep away and not peek constantly
Mom got up today - she's pretty pale but I've been giving her scrambled egg when none of the others is looking. I hope she perks up soon. She's being a good mommy and I discovered she actually hatched out four chicks, three grey ones and one yellow.
We have quite a few gnats in the coop due to all the rain, but I can't clean under her yet so I hope they don't harm the chicks.

Are the blue babies BLRW? They are beautiful!!! How much do you have to watch a broody after a hatch? Do they just get weak from all that setting? Thanks for putting up w/ all my Q's!
