Unfortunately it looks like there are 2 boys!

They will have to meet their maker very soon before I get too attached! Awaiting confirmation on Stay of Execution for one of them, at least.

I'd be worried about giving chicks to a hen who's been sitting less than 10-14 days. It doesn't sound like she's quite ready to be mama. I guess the worst that can happen is you lose some chicks trying it.

well my Black Sumatra Broody that I reported on yesterday, let me see 2 chicks a few minutes ago. 2 BEAUTIFUL Black Sumatra chicks. I think she is still waiting on the last egg to hatch. Today is day 20.

The other Black Sumatra Broody is sitting tight on her 2 eggs. Today is also day 20 for her. MORE SUMATRA BABIES!!!!

5 mottled babies! The 2 hens had abandoned the other eggs to "play" with the chicks so I was forced to remove the chicks and give them to the other mottled hen. She now has about 10 chicks. She seems a bit frazzled. lol
