Eventually, she did let mom show her how to get inside!

I came home to new fuzzy butts! I don't know how many, but there are new Sumatra's!

Mama was bringing them back in the "broody" shed to sit back on her eggs. I saw 4. I think she has more. She was on 8 eggs. Maybe tomorrow she will let me get another look.

My "broody" shed is my shed, that most of the Sumatra broody's have claimed as theirs. Over half of my girls have hatched their broods in my shed. I guess it is theirs now

They don't minds the noise from your saws and such? and Congrats !!

Long before I ever put real eggs under AliceAnn, my husband actually built on to the nest box area of the coop while she sat on nothing...Drills, hammering, the works. She never even "CLUCK"ed abut it. When she sits, she sits.

the shed is next to my workshop. But no they don't. "Mama" comes in the shop daily, when I'm working from home at 3 on the dot, to tell me her and her babies need a treat. One day last week for about an hour, while I was sawing, sanding, routing, etc I had 2 mama's and 10 babies in there with me. One of my RIR'S likes to lay her egg in the sawdust under my tablesaw. Silly girls

and Thanks!

the one with her running with the feet hanging out of its mouth. is really funny.

X 2!!!!!

Okay, I came home today and had to dash out before the rain really let down (who ordered the rain again?? Shipping tomorrow cause I want it GONE!!) to put the now room temp eggs under my broody JB. As I open the front I find not one, but TWO broody hens!! Watching them fight over the four eggs (the JB laid one more today) was about the funniest thing I've seen. At least until Barngoddess' frog leg pic!!

. So, now that I have two, does anyone think it could improve the chances of one of them adopting a 4 week old?? This makes 3 broodies in as many months!! I don't even have as many birds as Stony and their trying to beat her record!!
