Old Fashioned Broody Hen Hatch A Long and Informational Thread

I got my first silky broody hen.

She's been sitting last weds or thursday. I can't remember. She is sitting on 6 eggs. 3 silkie eggs and 3 barred rock. The rooster is a silkie. I have had to mark them because the other hens just lay more eggs in the nest box. I went in one time and she had scooted over or was pushed over by my barred rock and the barred rock was adding to her stash.

I've been trying to avoid this thread because I do not want any broody vibes latching on to my post and then to my hens. But I am so excited for everyone else and their broody hens. It's always so nice to see hens and their new babies.

Miss Lydia, you already know my "luck" with muscovy hatches right? Well it's the same with my hens during broody season.
