The average is about 50%, and that includes many at 0% all the way to 1 person who posted hatch rate of 100%. MANY factors go into a good hatch. Feeding of hens and fertility of roosters, to care of eggs before setting, conditions during shipping and how well the eggs were packed. THe generally quoted number is 50% for all the posts I've seen. But each shipment is unique. I worry that a worker shook the eggs as hard as he could just because--no damage to box. I know shipped eggs may not hatch. BUt I can always hope they do !!!!!!

Good packaging is half your battle--sounds like yours benefited from "very well wrapped". No broken, cracked or weeping eggs. You'll know in 21 days.

well, Judy from 3 cedars did an awesome packing, wrapped then put in egg cartons doubled up and then airbags and bubble wrap- and my hen just took em all in without hesitation... good Flo- she has been broody 3 times in the last year

My one remaining bantam Cochin has decided she is jealous of the other 2 that have babies and is now intensely sitting on 3 wooden eggs in a nest box. Seriously FeeFee?

Well, just went out and there are two eggs left and one is pipped. So 3 more hatched last night. If I get 13 out of 14 I will be happy. 3 of the older ones ate some food. It is supposed to get up to 66 degrees today and rainy---I am hoping she gets up and gets them drinking too. I may have to baby sit for a little bit.

Make sure everyone is taken care of.A few pics----if she gets up off of them today I will get some more.

And yes,she has a little pink paint on her to tell her from the others when she firsted started setting I wanted to make sure it was the same hen all the time.......only an artist would do such a thing.....
