Stony, I had made you 54 (graying hair, crows feet, and all). Sorry. I bet your hot young wife is glad you set us all strait!

The second eggs broken through the membrane now! I can see her little beak every now and then :)
I think it's just the weather thats making things a bit difficult though- it's been really hot lately, so I imagine that the humidity isn't doing too good in there! But at the very least, theres life, and with a chick already out to encourage the egg to hatch, we might have another by tonight :)

The first chick out! I forgot how tiny the were when they first hatched xD

The cage they're in now was just a stop gap measure until I get the larger cage ready for them today! I'll put the run on as soon as possible as well, to get the chicks outside ASAP :)

here are the latest pics of the babies hatched from the seramas hens, one for each hen

this guy hatched this morning

this is Latte(MOM) and coco, the little one

Oh sorry, I keep forgetting about the inverted seasons! I'm in australia, and we're finally getting the summer weather! Of course, this just means that the broody moms job is harder with the heat ): We've been having to hold the water drinker in front of her for her to have a drink, since she refuses to move off her eggs and her chick now!
It's 30 C at the moment, so I'm having to keep a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't get too hot! The chicks already wandered out from under the mom, so it must be pretty warm for her, too!

And those chicks are adorable artsyrobin! Any idea what colour they'll grow up to be? I've never seen chicks quite like that before!
