here they aren't saying anything much tonight. inch or so. Not sure what tomorrow afternoon on brings. Haven't watched the news today.

UPDATE to original post 6468: Well, I received the fertilized eggs in the mail and placed them under her in the small coop in the garage. She sat nice for a week then I noticed her in the lower part of the coop. I placed her back on the nest and restricted her to a smaller area. When we check now she is not on the nest, the eggs are cold and she is pooping in and out of the nest. One egg was cracked so I tossed it and cheked the egg. There was a blood spot but no embryo. I opened up her area again and cleaned up the poop and nest. I wiped/washed off the eggs and put fresh shavings. In. Should I wait a couple of weeks or should I just chalk this up to experience? Please help.

So far I have heard that the storm is supposed to stay south of us. If we do get anything it's supposed to be just flurries. I am not complaining about no snow last year at this time I was shoveling 4 feet of the stuff and my poor plow man broke his plow in my driveway. This is much better.

WOW, i i thought my 14 broody Sumatra's over he course of the year was incredible. 16 total broody's, but 14 were successful. I have 1 broody sitting, and one young girl who is on and off of golfballs. If she gets serious she gets real eggs!

wow 14. congrats

I do the same thing with the fake eggs. I have wooden eggs that I make them sit on for a week before they get real eggs.

my older Sumatra's... when they go broody, they go broody. They make up their mind, and that is it. They sit. The young Sumatra's sometimes need a few days to get it down.
