Today is the 5 week birthday for Smokey's 3 babies. For about 2 weeks now she's been sleeping in the nest box with them tucked under her. I've noticed the babies messing around on the roosts during the day. And tonight she is on the roost for the first time with the three babies tucked under her for protection and warmth. It was so cute. I will try to get a pic tomorrow night if they do it again.

Update: Mama and babies have moved out to the coop. She didnt take them upstairs where the other ones but has made her a little spot on the bottom floor. I shouldnt worry about it being to cold right? It is going to get down to 47 tonight.

I feel like I am going to be on an episode of Maury. I know who these babies moms are, but I dont know who the daddy is!!

By the feathering on the little black one I think that its dad is the frizzle our farmer friend has. Its adorable. The pics make it hard to see, but its wing feathers are already starting to flip out... adorable.
