Welcome to the rooster club! I think all 3 of Smokeys babies are roosters after all. And the two I hatched in the bator that are now 9 weeks old are both appearing to be roosters as well. So all five of the babies are Roos.
AdorableMy bantam Duchess went off the nest the other day, came back out today and she's stolen 2 eggs and 4 wooden eggs and is sitting on them with her "I'm broody" attitude. I gave her 3 chicks, she's been sitting on them for about an hour now. All peaceful and content, unfortunately out of her 6 original eggs, only 2 were fertile and still alive. I have them in the incubator.

She was probably just off to TCB and was surprised by your putting her back in place.Ok everyone! Broody question!
My Henrietta (Barred Rock) stayed on the nest all morning. I went out at lunch still on (12;00) left at 1 still on came home at 2 she was off but the eggs were VERY warm so I picked her up and set her in the nest. She acted like she was surprised I did that then she sat down flared her feathers and screeched and scooted all 10 eggs under her plus 3 golf balls!
Is she serious since she sat back down? Do you think someone made her get off the nest? I imagine she wasnt off any longer then 30 minutes to an hour. She has been staying on the nest ALOT longer these last few days.
