Old fashioned Broody thread for ducks 2013 edition

She actually went broody sitting on my gooses eggs, well that wasn't going to work since it was in my geese bedroom so I took her and set her up in the dog crate and gave her 4 goose eggs, well they weren't any good so took them away and gave her 4 just laid that day duck eggs, she was happy as a duck could be, never even moved.

so i have never had any of my ducks go broody, how do u know if they do? i collect eggs every morning so there is never a bunch for them to set on? should i leave some in there nesting box?

You can try, mine are all Muscovy, so it's actually more... when will they stop going broody!?

Boy ain't that the truth, my almost 9year old[July] laid an egg this morning.

now you watch she'll want to sit next, I had to go out and stick my hand under 2 butts of fluff this morning already trying to discourage this disease called broodiness.
