I was a busybody so I was in checking the eggs all the time. Yes, get it out of there if she will let you in! Our mama's pushed the rotten ones out to the best she could. Others died and rotted but we were at hatch so I was on the look out pretty good. The bacteria from the rotten ones if they explode can really harm the little ones. Good luck!!

Ok, first timer question- Mrs. Duck has been on the nest for a continuous 48 hours, she may have gotten up once to use her water, but her water is still pretty much clear, so it was a very short bath. Usually I have to change her water every day, it gets so filthy, but I didn't even have to do that today. Could this mean that hatching is going on?

Sounds promising. will she let you peak?

OK...another newbie question. My duck is in a 3' x 4' dog crate. We're hoping for a hatch this weekend. She's doing something odd tho...in the past 2 days, she's moved her nest from the back to the middle front and now back to the back of the crate.

I thought she shimmied everything forward to be able to reach the food water with little to no effort but today she's back in the back. The whole nest moves, she builds up the straw around her nicely every time she adjusts things.

We've watched her rolling her eggs. She's very gentle with them. She did get up and bathe yesterday and today she did pop out to poo outside, but maybe 3min max.

Is this just her odd behavior (moving the nest) or has anyone else observed this?

I got the rotten egg out after I got chased by a very ****** off duck lol.....Hatch day is today I am so nervous she got out maybe 3 times yesterday so no lock down yet!!!!
