The "girls" have had stranger "company".......

Nope, haven't done it. But surely, if you keep them warm, big side of air cell up - can't see any reason why it wouldn't work great for you. She gets a chance to actually hatch them and they bond with each other without fear of rejection or attack - you or the ducklings trying to sneak them in.

I need another idea those batch of eggs hatched last night. I do have 2 7 day olds should I try to sneak those in lol??

I think I might have found someone to sell me some day olds. Her hatch is due anyday now and shes 45 min away. I wont have to deal with shipping !!!

Great news, just keep eggs under her till ducklings arrive.

Great idea and just think with the eggs in there the humidity would be perfect from all the sweating you'll be doing trying to get home before one hatches...

Ok my khaki is still sitting on eggs. I've marked some at the very beginning when I noticed and the first markings were May 16th. She's been separated now for over 2 weeks and really taking care of them. Nothing yet and I was wondering if this is too long for these eggs. I don't smell anything going bad and when she does get off of them (which is just for a short time) I look into the nest and I don't see anything starting. Any ideas? I don't know anything about candling so I haven't tried it yet. Just not sure if I should be concerned at this point.

I don't think there would be any bonding there, but those that just hatched have a chance if you can get there asap.

This stinks now I am bummed she's still sitting on all of those eggs I feel so bad for her. I am looking for either a day old chick or ducklings...If I don't find any by the end of the day I will have to make her go unbroody....poor thing..

Still watching them but ever since I stuck them in there with her shes gotten meaner...I stuck my hand in there & she wont let me near them so I am hoping she can play mom...

Horrible, horrible day. The duckling that hatched yesterday was killed by ants, I found it dead yesterday afternoon. I moved Momma duck last night to another cage with her one remaining egg, however, she HATES the cage and refuses to sit on the egg. The baby is still moving around in the egg, but with no hen to sit on it, I'm bleak about it's survival.
