I brew my own beer, and I bought some grain really cheap a while ago. I just opened my flaked barley and it smells a little 'off.' Almost like the oils in the grain are starting to go rancid. (The rest of my grains are fine, though.) It's a bit too smelly to brew with, but will it be okay for the chickens?
I'm debating on making 'barley-oatmeal' for them in the mornings, or just feeding them a handful as a treat. Will there be any adverse effects from the grain being too old?
Cheers.
