We've raised OGO's for several years, we don't currently have any, but I really like the breed. We have two pairs of Indian Fantails currently and have raised OGO's and fantails in the same pens before and have found the owls to be so much better at rearing young, breeding, and even thrifty birds. I would have them again if I could find them. My original birds were from and older gentleman in Lebanon, IN, but I think he has long since sold out of all of his birds. I wish I had managed to keep a few more of them around, they were quite easy to sex, one of the reasons I knew I had so many more males than females with most of the clutches that hatched. If you have a blue cock and a red hen your babies will be able to be sexed at hatch by color. Its a sex-linked cross (I am pretty sure this is the right combo, but it could be the other way around, its been a few years since I read the info.)
These will be four first OGO's. My daughter wants the red barred pair for 4H. So that leaves the blue barred pair for me. We are really looking forward to them!
Ours are coming from a guy in Ohio. The date is backed up to the week of the 17th because we have fair week coming up for my nieces and nephews and I wont be here as much.
