My oldest goat is about 8 or 9 now. Her feces are still the pebble shape just it seems like it is clumps of pebble and passes two or 3 clumps at a time. Is she starting to kick the bucket or is it a diet thing? I noticed her also do this coughing like thing and I have no idea how to describe it except she kind of stretched her neck out and sounded like she exhaled then inhaled then exhaled again kind of harshley.

EDIT: She is also quite fat so I have no idea if that could mean anything. Also when I said clump in the previous paragraph I meant it was like 20 pebbles mashed together to form a clump but could still see the individual pebbles.

I would suggest getting a fecal done for worms and also have a coccidia count. Coccidia can and does cause problems in adult goats. The coughing thing, she could have just inhaled some dust, be developing pneumonia, have lungworm, etc. it would be best to let a vet look at her, honestly.

8 or 9 is old for a goat, but not really old. Especially if she is retired from kidding, she should have quite a few good years left. My aunt adopted a goat who was 14, according to the ear tattoo. She was in great health and lived another two years before she needed to be put down for a cancerous growth.

She gave birth to a goat in April cause my neighbors goat hopped the fence with the help of his dog house. Other than that she is done with kidding. I will get her checked out for worms and Coccidia thanks for the advice. I had only seen her to that coughing/exhale thing one time and it was right after she ate the last of some goat feed. May have been a little dusty.

Here is the old goat and her accidental baby. The baby does have blue eyes and yes that black goat does have 1 horn. Not suppose to have any. I also noticed her hips seem a little bony almost as if her skin is being tugged towards her belly.
