I have had chooks for a few years now, isa browns generally and a pretty one we called Beatrice. I have just moved and ventured into buying chicks as a start and need a few tips.

I don’t know the breed so there’s a thread for that and I’ll have to sex. They are all fighting so combs are growing and I’m sure there will be more educated guesses here than I could make.

the chicks do not have a regular roost and I have just finished the coop of coops, I’m interested in how to get them to sleep in it and how do the identif where to lay.
some of this may already be here, so thanks.

You might have to physically pick your young birds up and place them in the coop every night until they get the hang of doing it themselves. As for teaching them where to lay, you can try putting golf balls or something similar in the boxes.

Best of luck!
