I have a hen who is almost nine years old. As temperatures plummet to single digits over the next several days should I bring her in? I have a flat panel heater in the roost area which raises the temp a couple degrees above outside air, and seven other hens. But she sleeps at the top of the ramp because she can no longer jump up on a roost.

If the hen has been handling the cold well, I'd leave her with the others. Going from temperature extremes repeatedly is not good. If she isn't handling the cold well, consider keeping her in a warm
place until the temperatures are warmer.

I am doing this right now; a very young expensive phoenix pullet, and some late hatching call ducks.
