old hens will they go broody?

The kids bought 3 sussex cross silkie chicks from the pet shop, theyre nearly 5 mths old and 2 are roosters. Most of my chickens are not young and some of them I inherited I think are no longer laying, I was just wondering if older hens still go broody and do they ever if they are no longer laying?

yes if a hen is done laying, it may go broody for longer periods of times nothing to worry about... goodluck with your new birds
