If she is laying that is amazing for her age!
Omgosh thanks for this! How interesting! We are now thinks it’s a late bloomer Easter egger! She’s about 9 months old but is laying where the Araucana laid also. We have noticed the old hen was laying from time to time but not consistently like what’s happening now. I really thinks it’s amazing those old girls are still alive and healthy at all!

I have a 7 1/2 yo hen who will lay occasionally, mostly in the spring though.

Chickens egg production almost stops at that age, but they may lay an egg or two every once in a while. I have two 8yo girls that lay every few months still.

Do you have any other blue egg laying birds in your flock?
Yes we have noticed an egg from time to time! Now thinking a late bloomer Easter egger has started to lay in the Aracaunas box.

Sorry I’m new to this website appreciate everyone’s help and comments. Thinking we have a late bloomer Easter egger that had taken over the nesting box out Araucana laid.

Our 9 yr old laid a green egg yesterday (Or was it two days ago?)
She laid regularly, like every 2-3 days, for about a month in the spring last year (March or April). But 2 years before that no eggs at all.

However, late this afternoon her tail was down and she was waddling slowly. I’m afraid she maybe eggbound. I’ll give her an Epsom salt bath tomorrow morning and see what happens.
