Longtime lurker on BYC, first time chick mom.. love this site! So informative. I have 5 babies, and I was wondering how close my guesses are with the experts' on a few. Brought them home as fuzzballs on May 23.

Barred Rock... thinking female. "She" is the tamest of the bunch and I have really enjoyed her! Picture taken today:



Buff Orpington.. I am pretty sure this is a boy! Picture taken last week. Awkward teenage years!



Welsummer, I think female? This picture is outdated but the cap and eyeliner make me think she's a she.



Not pictured are golden- and silver-laced wyandottes. I think the goldie is a male and the silver will turn out to be a hen, but I don't have any recent pictures of them.

3. Fluffy... not a clue.

Sorry for the delay. I've taken updated photos. Here is the fuzzball with some feathering. I think the silver lady in the back is, well, a lady:



Here is my studly golden-laced for good measure. Pretty sure he's a he! If it comes down to it, I'll be rehoming him if the 2 roos don't play nice. Such a pretty bird though.

Number 3 looks like a Welsummer pullet, if that's the same bird in the second pic as the first.

Your wellsummer looks to be a girl. Your gold laced is a boy also. Barred is a girl.
