The newest addition, "Quackers", a Chocolate Pied drake was estimated to be about 3 years old by his previous owner. He seems like an old duck though, not really in his features but he's pretty lazy most the time, just likes to lay around, not so interested in the girls.
He's so gorgeous and I really hope he becomes 'active' soon, I just know his babies would be adorable!

My question is, at what age do drakes start to 'lose interest'?

His personality is so BLAH i haven't been able to give him a new name!

I've heard of very old active drakes so I don't think you have to worry about that yet. Maybe he just needs to settle in?

Maybe. A friend of mine has one that 13years old and just kinda naps off to the side all the time..once in a while he'll chase off a younger drake but is otherwise inactive.

Do you know what the previous owner was feeding him? My muscovy really perked up after a month of good food and foraging. I hope he does the same.

Just give him good food, vitamins and maybe a deworming and external parasite check over and he should be up and more active soon. he looks good in the photo but it could have been his former environment was not as great as yours will be for his continuing health.
