Thank you @Ridgerunner that was very helpful! My coop is an old 20 foot travel trailer that we gutted and set up as a coop. On the inside I have 2 brooders and 1/4 of it is sectioned off as a room where the walls are chicken wire (hardware cloth?) so yes, everyone of all ages can see each other and so far I haven't had any troubles integrating anyone.
Our run is huge and everyone seems happy out there together.
I am doing a lot of observation right now, my oldest cockerels are 7-8 weeks so I think I have time to figure everything out. Hopefully everything just goes smoothly and come harvest season it will be obvious who is staying and who is dinner.
We are going to build/extend our coop this fall, as I think we want to keep at least 30 hens and I know they'll need lots of indoor space over the winter. My husband and I are planning out an outdoor snow-proof run as well.
