Old toy box repurpose ideas?

So I have this old toy box my stepfather gave to me when I was young and before he passed away. I gave it to my kids and the top got broken off of it so I've decided to take it out of their room but now I'm left with a toy box with no lid. I want to repurpose it but not sure what I could do with it. Does anyone have any ideas? I thought of putting flowers in it but I kill everything. Lol.

You could turn it on the side and use it for a nesting box. Or, since you kill everything, you could use fake flowers.
