We just received 26 chicks (assorted breeds) from a hatchery. I am by no means an expert but at least half of the 'day-old' chicks have fully feathered wings. We've hatched some of our own chicks and I've never seen any of mine feather out in less than 2 days. Is this common with hatchery chicks? They seem healthy and went straight to the food and water when I put them in the brooder. By the way, the other half are still covered in down. Could the breed make a difference?

    Thank you
