Older hen not well this morning - UPDATE WEEKS LATER! (Good outcome)

Getting off the topic of "White Feather," but I looked for a Blue Seal dealer in my area after reading all the positive opinions about it on BYC. I drive 15 miles every 2 wks now to get the feed. Now have my chickens, horses, and dogs on Blue Seal. All of them prefer it over the prior, which was a good quality of another brand.

Two things I liked about Blue Seal, besides the taste test results:
1. They offer a grower diet specifically for layer juveniles - lower protein than the starter, which I have read is better than keeping them on hi-pro til lay.
2. Their scratch has much more barley and oats relative to corn than other brands I've bought, and no milo or whatever the dark little BB-like grain is that is in most scratch.

Thanks to everyone that recommended it - I never would have known about it if not for the BYC testimonials about it.

Ohhh I saw their different feeds and like the way they have that set up. I love feeds that do that. And I'm a huge believer in barley and oats, nice. I'm jealous!! And yes - the milo is the cheap ingredient that is in most scratch. Your scratch is more like a feed grain, not a treat scratch. Nice.

I'm not happy with the new Omolene for horses lately - your change in feed has inspired me to go look again at the Bluebonnet horse feeds. Thanks!
