Welcome to the coop! I use the Forums and Articles tabs at the top of the page to do research. You can get lost for hours. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies!
Glad to meet you, and welcome to BYC. I had not heard of an Ohio brooder, but I am charmed and impressed by the design and cost effectiveness. You will be a great contributor here. Send pictures of your birds when you get a chance!
Hello and welcome.
Chickens and gardening work together like cookies and milk. If you give the chickens access to the garden prior to planting, you can eliminate the use of pesticides. There is great personal satisfaction watching them scratch up and devour grubs. Having access to the orchard in the summer keeps the fruit falls cleaned up. The bonus is all the compostable waste they gift you with to replenish the soil.
