Although I helped my mother butcher chickens as a boy and I had 17 chickens and two ducks as a teenager, I feel that I am new to raising chickens. We never had a hen house and I never really kept chickens. I just fed them every evening. Now, I am 62 years old and I have just raised some wyandottes from little biddies I got back in June. I live in West Virginia. I love to hear and watch chickens. I like being around them.

How nice you're enjoying your flock! Chickens are very entertaining and it's fun to see their individual personalities come out.
