This is Blackjack. He is a 7 week old olive-egger (Ameraucana/ Welsummer cross.)

I am pretty confident he is a boy but I need your expert opinion since I am a first time chick mama.

Always chest bumping, friendly, confident, slow-feathering, pink since 3 weeks, 3 row pea comb ( I think).

Yep, that's a cockerel.

He's got an interesting color. If you are able to keep him, I'd love to see pics around 6 months to see how he matures.

Thanks! He was a very plain, drab brown little chick and when his feathers started coming in blue I was so happy. My thought was that if he was pretty maybe he had a better chance of finding a home and not end up in the cooking pot. I sadly can't keep him (though I legally can). Out of the eight eggs I just hatched 5+ are male. Aye. If anyone wants him...

The egg was from was either a blue or splash ameraucana. I'm guessing it was the blue based on his coloring.

Hi Donrae! Here's a photo of Blackjack all grown up at 5 1/2 months. We still have him (and his twin brother) but we are going to be looking for homes now that they are crowing up a storm. I also took a video if him for you (
).

I'm also not so sure he's an olive-egger anymore. He looks kind of like a favaucana but I'm really not sure.

Enjoy!

I posted on your other thread but didn't realize it was this bird, updated. Wow, they turned out stunning! I'd never have guessed he'd be so beautiful from the pics as a juvenile.
