I am new to raising chickens. All I know is, so far, they are more entertaining than any cat or dog I have ever raised.
So...I purchased four Olive Egger chicks, hoping I hand selected hens. At least I tried to select hens based on all I have read about wing sexing. Unfortunately, the more I read regarding combs, leg thickness, venting, attitude and so forth, I am now completely confused and think I may have hand selected Roos.
Please let me know what y’all think. The yellow chicks are a cross between a Black Split/Lavender Ameraucana (rooster) and a French Wheaten Maran (hen). The black chicks are a cross between a Black Split/Lavender Ameraucana (rooster) and a Black Copper Maran (hen).
All advise is greatly appreciated!!!!
P.S. All are in a brooder. I took pictures of them outside to get a better view of each chick.
